I recently had 4 months left for my passport to expire and It got me worried on what should I do. Luckily for me I had few friends who went through the process. So today, I am writing on how to renew the Indian Passport in Bahrain?
Before that, I tried finding a helpful resource and I could not find any. So here I am writing these steps to help any Indians in renewing their passports in Bahrain.

This is the process as of 2nd December 2020 as my appointment was on 2nd Dec 2021.
The full process will be looked after by an agency called IVS Bahrain. They have recently shifted their office to Dana Mall in Sanabis Manama.
Steps to renew your passport
- Send a WhatsApp message to the number 66391616.
- They will get back to you with an appointment date and time.
- On the day, take your old passport and around 50 BHD and go to them. You will have to wait seated untill the front desk calls your turn.
- Once they call, they will ask you different questions about your address and also ask you for the nearest police station to your address. This is asked for address verification.
- Then they send you to the photographer next door for passport size photos which cost 2 BHD
- Once this is done, you will go to front desk, answer any remaining questions, review the information and sign the forms generated by them for passport renewal and pay BHD 36. You can also update signatures like me as it is may not be possible to retain the same signature as 10 years ago.
- The passport will come by courier after making changes.

P.S. I have yet to receive my passport, will update this article with the time and other details.
Update on Receiving Passport:
I have received the call for drop off of the passport on 9th December 2021. That means, it took 7 days from the time of my appointment for the new passport to be ready.
The passport was delivered to my office address on request on 15th December 2021. That means, I received my passport within 2 weeks from the time of my appointment. This maybe subject to change based on the number of passports, season etc but it is a good experience overall with minimum things to do from my side.

How many years will the passport get renewed?
It will depend on the visa. If you have no issues with visa, 10 years 99% of the cases. If your visa is under processing, they may do it for 5 years.
What is the Total cost to get your passport renewed?
It cost me 38 BHD but these costs are subject to change in the future.
How long does it take to get your Indian passport renewed in Bahrain?
I went for my appointment on 2nd Dec and I got the call that it is ready on 9th Dec, so effectively 7 days for it to be ready. It may differ for you based on the month and time.
Since I asked them to deliver to my office, I received the passport in hand on 15th Dec, so overall it took 2 weeks approximately.
