The Butcher Shop and Grill is located on the third floor of Bahrain city center mall next to Vox cinemas. They offer south African cuisine especially steaks, burgers, espenadas and seafood. This is a fine dine restaurant with a rustic traditional wood house vibes.
They start off with complimentary ancient bread and south African boerewors (southafrican sausage) or also called the tomato onion sausage gravy.
Our host Camille, was very helpful and at the same time polite and courteous. We had an amazing dining experience with both food and service.
Update – I have visited recently and the food wait time has become too long.
Price range – BHD 40 to 50 for 4 main courses and desserts, without Entertainer. They also accept Entertainer where you can redeem the buy 1 get 1 free offer.
During weekdays they have a business lunch menu from 11 AM to 5 PM from BHD 5.9 onwards. Menu link is added below.

Chicken espetada ❤️❤️❤️ (spicy/ regular – with a choice of side and we went for onion rings)
Swiss and cheese burger – very good quality burger with onion and French fries. This comes a choice of 1 side – we went for coleslaw (I like it medium)
Mussel pot – with a choice of 1 side – we went for vegetables for fibre.
Rib eye steak – medium well – pepper salt and bbq sauce combination – comes with 2 sides and 1 sauce – we went for potato garlic and broccoli for some fibre and sauce blue cheese. Next time, I will go for medium.
Brisket – braised meat served over mashed potatoes and topped with mini leaves and brown gravy. This has been slow cooked and I can say quite well done as it just melts in your mouth.
Dessert – Malva pudding ❤️❤️❤️. We hear the cheesecake here is the best seller.
P.s. The onion rings were the best side dish.
Sterloin steak and Wagyu steak is recommended by many especially the higher quality Australian Angus or South African Wagyu.
